World Leading Autism Organization to Host Ride and Style Family Festival in Southern California this July

The Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc. (CARD), the world's largest organization effectively treating children with autism, will sponsor a Ride and Style Family Festival on Sunday, July 25, 2010 in Woodland Hills, California. The event, presented by Allen Edwards Salon & Spa, will be held from 11am - 6pm at 20855 Ventura Blvd. The event is produced by D. Plump Consulting.


World renowned autism expert / researcher and CARD Founder, Doreen Granpeesheh, PhD, BCBA-D, will join the line up of celebrity hosts, which include: Dean McDermott of Oxygen Channels's Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, Racecar Driver/Model Ashley van Dyke, and and Grant Reynolds of FOX Reality Channel's "Househusbands of Hollywood." 



"This event will not only help raise autism awareness in the community, but offer a lot of fun for everyone. I am proud that the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc. (CARD) can make this event possible."

Ride and Style Family Festival will feature top of the line exotic cars, custom motorbikes, vendors, food concessions, and live entertainment from musicians ZacPoor, Sidetracs and Arrest My Sister.

Celebrity Stylist Allen Edwards and his team of stylist will host a cut-a-thon during Ride and Style, inside of the Allen Edwards Salon & Spa. For $25, attendees will receive a cut, shampoo and blow dry. 100% of the proceeds will go to Autism Care and Treatment who will use the net proceeds to provide therapy, biomedical treatments, helmets, social skills groups and more to children with autism whose families can not afford the necessary tools for their child to reach their highest potential.

About Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh:
Dr. Granpeesheh has dedicated thirty years to helping individuals with autism lead healthy, productive lives. Dr. Granpeesheh started her studies in autism as an  undergraduate student at UCLA. While completing her graduate degree there, she worked with Dr. Ivar Lovaas on the worldrenowned outcome study published in 1987 which showed a recovery rate of close to 50% among the study’s research participants. She earned a PhD in Psychology from UCLA in 1990.   
Dr. Granpeesheh is licensed by the Medical Board of California, the Texas and Arizona State Boards of Psychologists, and the Dubai Healthcare City. She earned a Certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology from the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. 
 

She is an active member of many boards whose mission is to advance the treatment of autism. She is on the Scientific Advisory Boards of the US Autism and Asperger's Association, the Autism File Magazine, Autism 360 and the 4‐A Healing Foundation. Dr. Granpeesheh is also on the Board of Directors of the Autism Society of America, a member of the Autism Human Rights and Discrimination Initiative steering committee, on the North Los Angeles County Task Force of the Senate Select Committee on Autism and the Oversight Committee of the Department of Developmental Disabilities for the State of Arizona. She is the founding member and President of ACT Today! (Autism Care and Treatment), a non‐profit organization that helps families access effective treatment. 



Dr. Granpeesheh founded the Center for Autism & Related Disorders (CARD) in 1990.  Today, CARD is a worldwide leader in providing effective autism treatments to thousands of clients. CARD provides both regional and remote services around the globe through its 18 satellite sites in California (10 sites), New York (2 sites), Virginia, Illinois, Texas, Arizona, Australia, and New Zealand. Through her active participation and direction in research, curriculum development and treatment, Dr. Granpeesheh has consistently demonstrated the effectiveness of Applied Behavior Analysis intervention. She has not only helped tens of thousands of families, but has successfully helped many children and young adults attain their highest potential, giving further merit to the notion that autism is treatable and that affected individuals can lead independent, meaningful lives

Racecar Driver / Model Ashley van Dyke to Co-Host Ride and Style with Hollywood's Hottest Reality Stars

Racecar Driver/Model Ashley van Dyke will join Hollywood's hottest reality stars Dean McDermott of Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, and Grant Reynolds of Hollywood Househusbands and world renowned autism expert Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh on the stage of Ride and Style. The event will take place July 25, 2010 in Woodland Hills. The event is produced by D. Plump Consulting.

5th Annual Denim and Diamonds for Autism Hosts to Shoot Video Promo at EXTRA TV Studios


Autism Care and Treatment's Executive Director Nancy Alspaugh-Jackson and EXRTA TV's Entertainment Reporter Jerry Penacoli are scheduled to shoot the 5th Annual Denim and Diamonds video promotion next week!

The co-hosts will film the marketing campaign video in the studio of EXTRA TV.

"This is a new element we're adding to the 5th Annual Denim and Diamonds," says Event Producer Daphne Plump. "It's the 5th annual so we really want to roll out many new elements with the sole purpose of attracting sponsors and attendees, and retain our dedicated supporters...all of which will translate into much needed funds for children with autism."
